Teens: Introduction to 3D Art, Modeling and Animation for Filmmaking

Learn how artists use Maya for creating environments and characters

Tools like Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max are used extensively by Hollywood artists for modeling, animating, and lighting realistic high resolution characters and environments. Examples include feature films like Monsters vs. Aliens, Shrek, and Kung Fu Panda – just to name a few. If you want to do it like the pro’s, then this class is for you!

In this course, you’ll learn the basics of modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering and animation for filmmaking. Through this course, you will create a basic room for use in either set design for movies or TV. In addition, basic animation principles including character animation using pre-built rigs will be covered. The final result will be your animation performing in your room or level design. The projects will be output in class and produced to a DVD.
